What does hosting mean?

Once a website is developed, it needs to be placed on a computer that is connected to the Internet so the public can view the site. That computer is "hosting" the website that was just built.

Some websites have video animated graphics. Since they are created by using a software called Macromedia Flash, the animated graphics are called Flash.

What is a Domain name?

A domain name is an address that you have on the Internet such as www.yourbusinessname.com. In order to obtain a name that you want, you must first check with a domain name registration provider to see if it is available since each unique name can only be assigned to one owner.
